CPA-Retired

As of April 1 2019, I am officially retired, ending a wonderful 45 year career. I still keep busy doing pro-bono work (not involving the practice of public accounting) for a few not-for-profits that I have been part of for a long time.

I would like to thank my bosses who mentored me and my outside tax counsels who taught me how to litigate during these many years:

Steve Desmond & Jim Schenold at Price Waterhouse; Martin Hutchteman, George Sherwood, & Bob West at Cities Service, Duane Johnson at Cotton Petroleum, John Shearing at Hilti, Mark Husband, Tom Kelley, Tony Rackley, & Clive Seymour at Williams, and Bob Rock at WPX Energy.

Maryann Gall at Jones Day, Terry Cosgrove at Gough, Shanahan, Johnson & Waterman, Chris Dicharry at Kean Miller, and Aaron Young at Reed Smith.

I especially want to thank those dedicated staff who helped make me so successful. I could never have done it without you. You were a special blessing.

I would also like to thank my peers at Williams and WPX Energy for helping make it fun to work there in spite of the stress of filing deadlines and financial statement closings. Finally I want to thank my friends at Horwood, Marcus & Berk; the Council on State Taxation; and Tax Executives Institute for making my working in the field of state taxation such a rich and rewarding experience these last 25 years.

Regards,

David
